WHO WE ARE
Roach Reefs Resort is a basic and natural resort situated on a private,
man-made tropical reef about 45 minutes by speedboat from Tawau. We are
located right at the edge of the Borneo shelf, less than 50 minutes
away from Sipadan Island. Our chalets are built in traditional
architecture with Nibung wood, offering simple and basic accommodation
for guests to enjoy their diving holiday in private surroundings.
Facilities include 10 spacious chalets and one water cottage, all equipped with air-conditioning, seaview balcony, private bathroom and basic toiletries with hot shower. Our restaurant serves Asian and Continental cuisine.
WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT US?Roach Reefs is the outermost reef from Tawau, built on top of two steel barges sunk in 1993. Measuring 15 hectares in size, Roach Reefs Resort was formerly a private retreat for friends and relatives. However, now with new management, diving at this unique reef is now open to the world! Come and explore for yourself this man-made reef sanctuary and the untouched sites surrounding it.

Special attractions
We have a big school of bumphead parrotfish that frequent our house
reef, as well as a swirling school of blackfin barracuda. We also have
a number of wreck-dive sites featuring tires, a fishing boat, steel
barge, and a bus. All have been sunk for more then 10 years and are
teeming with healthy marine life. Whale sharks are frequent visitors
between November and February, when they are attracted to the area by
high levels of plankton and anchovies.
